Child and Adult Care Food Program
Winsted Area Child Care Center, is fortunate to receive funding from the Child and Adult Care Food Program though the Connecticut State Department of Education, with additional support from the United Way of Northwest Connecticut. Through this partnership, we are able to offer a well-balanced breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack to every child, at no additional cost to our families. The children eat every meal "family style", serving themselves, pouring their milk and of course learning all about "please" and "thank you".
Fancy Nancy
WACCC is proud to have a full time cook on board. Mrs. Nancy Kinsella has been with the program for over 25 years! Nancy's meals are creative, comply with CACFP guidelines and happen to be delicious, too!
In addition to Nancy's food certification, she attends annual workshops to learn about up and coming policies and procedures. In turn, Nancy is able to educate our staff at trainings about proper lunch time procedures.
When Nancy isn't hard at work in the kitchen, she is spending time with her family that includes her husband Mike, her 3 children, and 4 grandsons!
There is no other Center in the area with a "Mrs. Nancy". She spoils us rotten and we couldn't be happier!
